Has French Cuff Shirts Now Wants Some Cool Clothes…

November 6th, 2009

I am 13, don’t have much money, I have a good collection of formal clothes such as suits, french cuff shirts, and even a tux, but no real “cool” clothes. I have trouble buying shirts with logos on them, and knowing how to choose clothes.  Help?

Wear what you have and wear it in style. Have no shame that you are not wearing what everyone else is. Who wants to do that anyways?

How to get underarm stains out of mens dress shirts. My husband has what looks like a white stain from sweat?

November 3rd, 2009

How to get underarm stains out of mens dress shirts.  My husband has what looks like a white stain from sweat?

Deodorant and Perspiration Stain Removal

Yellow underarm shirt stains are likely caused by a combination of deodorant and perspiration. Many deodorants and antiperspirants contain aluminum salts. When these salts are combined with laundry detergent, especially in cooler water settings, they are not easily dissolved, and they remain on the fabric.

To remove the stains, try soaking the shirts in warm water with an enzyme pre-soak product or rubbing the soiled area with white vinegar. Wash in the hottest water safe for the fabric.

If the stain remains, dampen and sprinkle stain with meat tenderizer. Let stand for about an hour, and launder again.

To avoid new stains from forming, always wash the shirts in the hottest water safe for the fabric. Also, allow antiperspirant to dry completely before dressing.:)

What is the loop on the back of some mens shirt for?

October 30th, 2009

This loop is located at the center top on the back of some mens dress shirts

The hook is for your thumb. If the weather gets too warm and you want to take off the outer shirt, then you can just hook your thumb in it and throw it over your shoulder.ha! ha! Tell you the truth, I honestly don’t know. But sounded good, huh?

Editors Comment:  Close – The loop is called a ‘locker loop’.

The locker loop is added fabric loop positioned in a high position, usually where the pleat meets the yoke, in the center back on shirts.  The purpose was so you could hang your shirt in a locker, by the loop so as to avoid the shirt from wrinkling.  They were more common on sports or oxford button-down collar shirts.

Some brands used the locker loop more prolifically than other brands.
