I bought a button down mens dress shirt from H&M and it came with a little baggy, inside the little baggy had a flat white plastic object that was narrow on one side but flat on the other side. It’s about 2 inches long. Does anyone have a clue what this can be? It isn’t a button!
It sounds like a spare collar stay. Flip the points of the collar up and see if they have something like it inserted into the tips of the collar. On some men’s shirts the collar stays are removable, so the wearer can choose between a softer or stiffer looking collar. If this is the case, the stays can sometimes get lost, so the maker provided and extra one in the little bag.
