Brooks Bros offers three sizing options for their mens dress shirts: traditional, slim, and luxury. I’m a pretty skinny dude, so I don’t want any more “traditional” sized shirts because they look too baggy on me. But I was wondering if the slim fit was too tight looking? I’m only asking because I don’t have the time to go try them on and screw around. If it helps at all, I wear the “custom fit” polo shirts. So if someone who wears those also wear the slim fit dress shirts, that would answer my question.

Luxury is your best bet I’m a girl so I buy the women’s shirts and have found that lux fits better than traditional and is not as tight as slim slim may look too gay.

Brooks Brothers slim fit works well for skinny guys — not too tight, and with a good fit. They're quite well fitted, IMO.
And you are correct in that their traditional and luxury fits tend to fit like "tents" — however, I do like their slim fit a lot more because it is better fitting for me. But if you are not too skinny, the luxury fit provides a fine balance.
It fits closer to the body than a traditional fit but it is roomier than a slim fit.
But at the end of the day, it would be hard to describe what would fit you well. Some measurements may be useful.
